John Mackinnon trained in Oxford, and did his Orthopaedic training in Oxford, Bristol and Switzerland. He has done clinical and laboratory research into hip and knee arthroplasty and bone cement bonding.

MEDICAL
He is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based in Cheltenham, appointed in 1991. He also works at the Cheltenham and Gloucester Nuffield Hospital. He is fully accredited by BUPA, PPP and other major insurers.

MEDICO-LEGAL
He has been involved in medico-legal work for the last 15 years. 500 reports are produced annually. 60% of these are for claimants. He regularly attends court as an expert witness.

He is able to give appointments by return. Most cases are seen within 2 months, and reports are returned within 2 weeks. Urgent reports can be produced where needed. Patients can be seen in Cheltenham, Bristol, Cardiff, Plymouth, Southampton and Wolverhampton. Domicillary appointments can be arranged.
